Meet the Director

The CDRC is proud to welcome Ms. Ivonne Anton as the first Executive Director of the CDRC. She began her work on June 26, 2017.

Ms. Anton has recently moved to Fayetteville from Florida and is quickly acclimating to our community. Before even knowing

of our position, she has been going to community events and even a Fayetteville commissioners meeting to get to know our area leaders.

She has extensive personal experience with disaster response and recovery work both with Catholic Charities and the American Red Cross and with the Dept. of Children & Families of FL (what we call DSS). At one point, she was sent to St. Croix (Virgin Islands) following a major disaster on that island nation so that she could facilitate the resettlement of 100 American families back to Florida. In addition to her hands on experience in disaster work, she helped to secure a substantial grant as the Vice President of the Epilepsy Foundation of FL that others were unwilling to tackle.

This CDRC Director’s position is funded for one year by grant money from Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA-PCUSA) and the PEELER/CASEY funds of the North Carolina Lutheran Synod (ELCA). Continuing funding is needed and welcome! This position is possible because of our partnership with Church World Service, Inc.
